The model for Advent is Mary. During the weeks preceding the birth of Jesus,she spent time in reflection and prayer to God. She probably had more questions than answers and definitely needed strength to face an uncertain future. We are fortunate that, during Advent, we can celebrate and highlight Mary on two special occasions: the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (Patroness of the United States) on Dec. 8th & the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Patroness of the Americas) On Dec. 12th. Our celebrations of Mary will be as follows:

Immaculate Conception

  • Wednesday – December 7th , 7:00 pm
  • Thursday – December 8th , 8:00 am & 7:00 pm

Our Lady of Guadalupe

  • At all Masses on December 10th & 11th , a special Litany to Mary will be prayed.
  • Sunday, December 11th, 4:00 pm. Procession with the Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe;
  • 5:00 pm Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe
  • 6:00 pm Fiesta in her honor in the Parish Hall. (The Spanish-speaking members of our parish are preparing the food!)
