RCIA

Fr. Jack Kane, cmFriends:

Within a few weeks, we will be starting the Parish RCIA Program. This year, Brandon & Jennifer Kaetzeol will be in charge of it. Newly married (June 20th!), they will be back soon and ready to get started. In the meantime, all of us have work to do.

Experience has taught us clearly that people become members of the Catholic Church because someone invited them or spoke to them about it. All of us have friends or relatives who have indicated in some small way their interest in the Church. Maybe they have accompanied us to Church on occasion or maybe they have asked us a sincere question about the Church. It might even be a spouse who has no affiliation with any other church and St. Mary’s is the only church he/she knows. I encourage you to take the initiative and asked her/him about it. This person just might be waiting for someone to ask! Imagine — if every parishioner were to speak to just one person!

There’s another group that might be interested in the RCIA. They are the baptized catholics who haven’t been to church for a while for many various reasons. Maybe they would like to return to church but don’t know how to go about it! Again, no Church Bulletin announcement will accomplish this! Only a church goer can do this! I recommend that you check out the following web site:

http://www.catholicscomehome.org/.

Go to it yourself, first, and then share it with as many people as you want. Click on the “movie”. It is very well done.

Finally, when you find out that someone is interested in the Catholic Church or returning to participation in the Church, please call the Parish Office (334-749-8359) and leave your name & phone number as well as that of the interested person with Glenda.

Many thanks!

Jack Kane, C.M.
