Thanksgiving

This is always a beautiful celebration here at St. Maryʼs. A great many people come to Mass (and itʼs NOT a day of obligation!), During our Eucharist, some people will have brought some bread & wine, symbols of the meal that they will share later in the day, and they will be blessed. this day, which begins with Mass continues with family & friends (and, believe it or not, some people even watch football!!!). So, our THANKSGIVING DAY MASS SCHEDULE IS:

MASS, with the blessing of Thanksgiving Day symbols, at 9:00 a.m. (NOT 8:00 a.m.)

Friday — NO MASS. If youʼre not shopping, then, sleep in!

Congratulations to Marie Hudson

On Sunday(November 20),  the Feast of Christ the King, Marie Hudson as well as her family & friends will be
at the Cathedral in Mobile where she will receive from Archbishop Rodi, the Christ the
King Medal. This is in recognition of her services here in our parish.

Each Parish of the Archdiocese is asked to nominate one person whose efforts in the
parish promote the values of the parish. Over the many years that Marie has been in St.
Maryʼs, her presence and participation have been invaluable. She has served for many
years, not only as the person responsible for the Ladiesʼ Sodality and all its activities,
but also on our Pastoral Council.

Anyone who knows Marie can testify to her quiet but deliberate way of working. She is a
good and strong “person behind the scenes”, never seeking the limelight. Marie serves
her parish well. What else needs to be said. Congratulations, Marie, and thank you
for your service and example.
