Lent seems to have flown by and now we have celebrated Palm Sunday!Palm Sunday begins our celebration of Holy Week. The schedule shifts a bit this week.
Monday-Wednesday: daily mass moves to 7 pm
Holy Thursday: 7 pm mass
Good Friday: Good Friday Service at 4 pm followed by simple (read “meager”) supper in the Parish Hall. At 6:30 we have a Living Stations of the Cross.
Saturday: The Easter Vigil will be celebrated when the sun sets, shortly are 7 pm. This mass will be in English.
Easter: Regular schedule of 9 am (English) and 11:15 am (Spanish) with an Easter Egg Hunt for the children in between.

A few years back, newly ordained Fr. Joe Fitzgerald, C.M., served in St. Mary’s during the weeks that Fr. Jack was on vacation. This YouTube video is one that he has made about his ministry. Enjoy!
The “Semillas de Esperanza” groups work together to build a better future for their families. Central to the program is the agricultural project that involves formation gatherings, group work, family seed loans, animal breeding, tool sharing and “village sample farms”. Through a synthesis of traditional indigenous ngóbe practice and the best practices of organic methods today, we are developing a new model of “Alternative Ngóbe Agriculture”!

Thanksgiving

This is always a beautiful celebration here at St. Maryʼs. A great many people come to Mass (and itʼs NOT a day of obligation!), During our Eucharist, some people will have brought some bread & wine, symbols of the meal that they will share later in the day, and they will be blessed. this day, which begins with Mass continues with family & friends (and, believe it or not, some people even watch football!!!). So, our THANKSGIVING DAY MASS SCHEDULE IS:
MASS, with the blessing of Thanksgiving Day symbols, at 9:00 a.m. (NOT 8:00 a.m.)
Friday — NO MASS. If youʼre not shopping, then, sleep in!
The Sacrament of Confirmation/Sacramento de Confirmacion

Next Saturday, May 14, 2011, Archbishop Rodi will be here to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at 10:00 a.m.. Those to be confirmed are:
Gricelda Bran, Matthew Christian, Jason Clark, Michael Fetsch, Alex Lopez, Rosie Mendoza, Patrick Murphy, Lourdes Perez, Yesenia Perez, Emily Scroggins & Samuel “Trip” Taylor
On Sunday, May 15th, during the Mass in Spanish, Julio Lux & Moisés Gonzalez, will also celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. Moisés will also make his First Communion.
May God continue to bless these young people and their families as they bring His blessings to our parish.
El Señor Arzobispo, Tomás Rodi, estará con nosotros este sábaado para celebfrar el Sacramento de Confirmación a las 10:00 a.m. El día siguiente, el 15 de mayo, durante la misa en español, Julio Lux y Moisés Gonzalez celebrará el Sacramento de Confirmación. También, Moisés celebrará su Primera Comunión.

The parishes of St. Mary’s and St. Michael’s invite you to join us for a Catholic Family Gathering – we are united in diversity for the love of God.
When: 7:00-9:00pm on Saturday, October 9, 2010
Where: St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Auburn AL
What: A family evening featuring choir music (Spanish and English), artistic dance presentation, a talk about family values, piñatas and more! Snacks will be provided (but food contributions are welcomed!) This gathering is being organized by St. Mary’s Parish.
