St. Mary’s Church received the following letter of thanks for our part in the successful “Access to Justice Legal Clinic” in Opelika. The clinic was held at St. Mary’s by the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011.

Good evening compañeros,
I want to thank everyone for all of your help in a very a successful Access to Justice Legal Clinic in Opelika on Saturday.  Our attorneys assisted clients with eighteen free legal consultations.  Additionally, we had many people attend and participate in two workshops on Know Your Rights.  A special thank you is in order for St. Mary’s and all of the volunteers who set up the event and made us feel so welcome in the Auburn/Opelika area.  I look forward to working more with you  in the future.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you.
Gracias a todos,
Jeremy Love

Just a reminder that the season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 9th. (FYI: Easter falls on Sunday, April 24th). Our parish, as a Community, will be celebrating traditional practices (Mass, Stations, Soup & Bread, & Fish Fry’s) as well as the family Rice Bowl. Nevertheless, it is good to personally prepare yourself — beginning now — so that you can really celebrate this season.
